There is an excellent opportunity at Accountemps for a Full Charge Bookkeeper. Do you multitask effectively and have exceptional communication, organizational, and time-management skills? In this position, you will prepare financial statements; establish and maintain the accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives of the organization; and handle all other general accounting and bookkeeping functions. Based in Kansas City, Missouri, the Full Charge Bookkeeper role is a long-term temporary-to-full-time opportunity.
Your responsibilities in this role
- Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time
- Executing accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, such as collections
- Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
- Handling reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll
- Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and statements regarding income and cash flows
- Maintaining historical records by filing documents
- Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management
- Tracking fixed assets to produce depreciation schedules
Requirements
- Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports
- Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical
- Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
- Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience required
- Strong familiarity with cash posting
- Prior experience with Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree- Highly organized and self-motivated
- High school diploma or similar accreditation, and an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended
- 2+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping
- Background in payroll preferred
- Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight
- Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting
