CHIEF QUALITY/RISK/COMPLI OFFICER Job Opening # 1581 Job Category ADMINISTRATION Department Administration Post Date Description Essential Functions:1. Responsible for operation of department by establishing performance goals, evaluating actual performance, managing budget compliance, assuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures and initiating disciplinary actions.
2. Responsible for the oversight of hospital quality outcomes and peer review. Tracks established metrics for quality, safety and compliance.
3. Oversees and coordinates hospital efforts to monitor and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and CMS Conditions of Participation for acute care hospitals.
4. Serves as the Hospital Risk Manager, serving as a resource to leadership, clinical employees and medical staff members related to risk exposures. Selects, coordinates and maintains facility occurrence reporting system and responsible for reporting to state agencies.
5. Coordinates activities related to Joint Commission accreditation and continuous readiness. In collaboration with hospital leadership, ensures that Joint Commission deficiencies are addressed and resolved.
6. Serves as the Corporate Reporting Officer, chairing the Compliance Committee meetings and coordinating follow-up activities. Coordinates the corporate compliance reporting hotline and monthly sanction screening of medical staff, employees and vendors.
7. Serves as a liaison with attorneys representing the Hospital in defense of malpractice lawsuits and other legal issues. Serves as a resource to activities relating to litigation.
8. Responsible for all Medical Staff services, including application, reappointment, credentialing requirements, committee reports, maintenance of Medical Staff Bylaws and Related Manuals and ongoing and focused professional practice evaluations.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Work independently with minimal or no supervision. Good organizational skills with good understanding of medical staff and hospital organization, Joint Commission standards, state and federal laws. Basic knowledge of medical terminology required.
Education:
Graduate of a recognized college or university with a degree in nursing or other healthcare-related field preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of five years of healthcare experience. Competent in computer skills, word processing and spreadsheet capabilities.
Certification/Licensure:
None.
Code Blue Training:
Ability to activate Code Blue System by dialing 200.
Physical Demands:
May require frequent sitting. Requires frequent standing and walking. Occasionally lifts and carries up to 10 lbs.
May require pushing and pulling up to 10 lbs. Eye-hand coordination, and finger and manual dexterity are required.
Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions.
Some exposure to hazardous materials is required. Requires occasional grasping, twisting, climbing, balancing,
stooping, kneeling and reaching. Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols. Ability to use office
equipment such as computer terminal, typewriter, telephones, copiers and fax machine. Repetitive movements involved
in typing, writing and keyboard entry are required.
Working Conditions:
Work is scheduled predominately during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. However, attendance is sometimes
required at early morning and/or evening meetings.
Shift Hours This is a Full Time position working 80.000 Hours/Period
8:00 AM- 5:00 PM
