Job Description
A Rigger/Driver/Millwright will transport loads and/or company equipment of various types and weights from one point to another without damage to the object moved, property or personnel. This position acts in conjunction as a Laborer, Machinery Mover, Millwright, Rigger and/or Operator.
- Acts in a combined capacity as driver/machinery mover/millwright/laborer
- Align, level, and anchor machinery and assures that lifting gear is inspected prior to use
- Assures that all lifts are within load limits of equipment and correctly rigged
- Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools.
- Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials such as heavy equipment
- Operates forklifts, small cranes, vehicles, equipment, and machinery as required by facility or worksite
- Operates equipment to hoist materials and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform preventative maintenance as required to ensure safe and continual service of equipment
- Performs tasks assigned by foreman or operator during lifting procedures
- Responsible for personal safety and safety of co-workers
- Responsible for slings, cables, straps, and the equipment prior to lifting operations
- Other duties as assigned by management
