Summary/Objective:
To assist students to reach levels of educational proficiency necessary to obtain and maintain employment. To provide functional supervision to all NexStep GED Adjuncts, NexStep GED Instructors, and Campus Coordinators. Ensure adequate staffing levels, professional development and training, and implementation of evidence-based GED instruction. Responsible for managing and integrating GED instructional services throughout all education campuses. To manage and assist GED instructors in effectively meeting the program outcome measurements. Be on-call to coordinate emergency GED class coverage and/or serve as an emergency GED substitute and support Security collaboration. Assist in GED enrollment and testing processes. Respond to and facilitate GED student and instruction issues. Participate in NexStep and GED outreach and events. Manage GED orientation implementation. Responsible for GED data tracking and management. Other assigned functions as deemed necessary by the NexStep Director. To fulfill mission statement.

Job Competencies:
Teach math, reading, and other adult education subjects as needed to prepare learners to pass the GED exam and be well prepared for the workplace and for post-secondary education. Provide functional supervision to the NexStep GED Instructors and Campus Coordinators. Recruit and recommend qualified individuals to be NexStep GED and/or ESL Instructors. Comfortable supporting instructors by answering questions, providing information, and offering useful resources. Willingness to be on-call for student, instructor, and/or security situations. Plan for and provide one-on-one, small group, and/or large group instruction based on student goals and assessment data. Maintain accurate records. Display commitment and involvement toward Goodwill’s mission.

Education/Experience:
Must possess a bachelor’s degree in Education with a strong background in Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Math or related field. Must have a minimum of three years in an educational leadership role. Must pass a background check. Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to drive to multiple campuses. Strong leadership and communication skills are required. Must be an energetic team player who possesses the desire to positively impact the community and create significant change in the lives of adult education students. A bachelor’s degree plus experience may be substituted for an education degree.

Special Skills:
In-depth adult education curriculum and instruction knowledge pertaining to General Educational Development, knowledgeable of the Kansas Board of Regents CCRS and PAM standards, effective classroom management and policy enforcement, lesson planning, classroom monitoring, instructor and student advocacy, knowledge in TABE testing procedures and data collection, strategic planning, educational policy creation and implementation, effective communication skills, knowledgeable of effective leadership practices, modern technology skills, conflict resolution skills, instructor recruiting, instructor hiring recommendations, instructor training.
