Job Description
Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops such as working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) such as combine, grain cart, sprayer, mower, tillage tool to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as corn, milo, silage, wheat, hay; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, load crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Regulate conditions; Attend to live farm animals including cattle such as feeding, watering, herding, monitoring, branding/tagging, segregating, moving, calving, weaning; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Attach implements using hand tools; speak and understand English.
Housing is provided. Reimbursement for transportation and subsistence is also offered. Transportation will be provided at no cost to workers, from employer-provided housing and, if applicable, centralized pick-up points to the places of employment at the beginning of each workday and back at the end of each work day.
