Job Description
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide real-time interpretation of classroom instruction, lectures, discussions, and other educational activities into ASL.
- Facilitate communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and hearing peers, teachers, and school staff.
- Support and educate teachers and staff on best practices for interacting with deaf and hard of hearing students.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment by facilitating effective communication and addressing any barriers to learning.
- Assist students in understanding and navigating classroom materials and assignments as needed.
- Provide guidance to students on using communication technology and other aids.
- Ensure confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards.
