Job Description
- Able to motivate self during routine and tasks
- The position also requires the ability to work independently or in a team setting
- Mechanically minded and willing to be cross-trained in a variety of Fabrication functions. ( Laser, Press Brake, Saw, Deburring, ect. )
- Ability to use and read measuring instruments. Calipers, measuring tape are a must.
- Able to read and interpret part drawings

- Education: HS Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds

Responsibilities
- Set up and operate computer numerical controlled (CNC) punch machine
- Tool up punches an dies following procedures to ensure they are correct for the material clearances for the job.
- Responsible for organizing and sorting parts to aide in production flow towards press brakes, according to manufacturing work orders
- Monitors machine to ensure it is performing properly
- Will work on a team of two, including one experienced programmer and one operator
- Must be mechanically minded and willing to be cross trained in a variety of fabrication functions
- Responsible for the set-up, basic cleaning maintenance, operation of equipment in the punch
- Be trained to be able to set up a pre-existing program to punch
- Responsible for inspecting quality of raw material for fabrication of component
- Equipment and Operation
- Performs Equipment Setup
- Will follow facility and equipment safety practices during setup
- Reports all machine malfunctions to programmer or supervisor
- Machine Operations
- Completes and follows all required safety procedures during equipment operations
- Perform process checks to maintain, and adhere to, all required tolerances and quality requirements
- Maintain clean equipment during operations and end of shift clean up
- Responsible for occasional deburring and inspection of parts to assure conformance
- completing part/component run
- Communicates all production related items to Production Supervisor
- Communicates with management, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues

- This position requires regular on-time attendance as outlined by North Topeka Fabrication and your supervisors.
- You will be expected to accept direction from your supervisor and to work amicably and productively with co-workers.
