Work Schedule:  Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Compensation:  $18.26 hourly

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel is essential, fueling our outreach efforts to passionately connect with local employers, partners, and veterans, creating a meaningful impact in the process.

This position is located at the Junction City Workforce Center.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: 

Advocacy for Veterans: Ignite a sense of enthusiasm within the business community to embrace the hiring of Veterans, and advocate passionately for those who have proudly served in the Armed Forces.

Empower Local Employers: Illuminate businesses and community leaders on the invaluable resources provided by Veterans’ employment services.

Foster Employer/Veteran Connections: Strategically pinpoint potential clients through meticulous exploration of business directories, pursuing leads from existing clients, active involvement in organizations and clubs, and active participation in networking events.

Community Engagement: Engage in proactive outreach efforts, both in-person and through electronic channels, to connect with new and established businesses, unraveling their specific needs and demonstrating how the comprehensive services of the Workforce Center can be a valuable asset.

Team Building: Foster collaboration with peers, sharing insights such as outreach strategies and pertinent business intelligence.

Documentation Excellence: Uphold meticulous documentation practices, meticulously recording customer notes and service history within the sophisticated KANSASWORKS customer management system.

Training and Development: Orchestrate and lead workshops, in collaboration with employers, focusing on enhancing work readiness and refining essential business skills.

Qualifications:

Education:   High School or GED

Minimum Qualifications


  • Six (6) months experience in career counseling, job placement, recruitment, assessment and deployment of staff or similar related experience 

  • High School Diploma or GED 

  • 24 credit hours leading to a Bachelors degree, from an accredited university; lesser credit hours will be considered in lieu of work experience. 

  • Career Development Technician Certification accepted in lieu of 6 months experience or Bachelors degree. 

  • Valid drivers license or ability to travel as required. 

  • Strong orientation to initiative, ability to coach on career issues, customer service orientation and strong orientation to achieving goals. 

  • Knowledge of veterans employment issues and related employment strategies 

 

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree, with one (1) year closely related work experience 

  • One year of marketing or sales experience, private sector hiring practices, presentation development and delivery to diverse population and group sizes ranging from large to one on one 

  • Certifications by National Veterans Training Institute.
