Job Description
Diesel Technician
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversight of Lube Technician’s PM’s & inspections on Trucks.
- Diagnosing & repairing electrical issues.
- Diagnose, repair diesel engines.
- Oversight of Service Technician’s Repair/Replace tractor component parts when and where necessary such as headlights, heaters, windshield wiper motors, belts, seats, windows, airlines, brake chambers, air valves, etc.
- Oversight of Service Technician’s Brake jobs & Wheel Seals.
- Diagnosing & repairing ABS Issues.
- Knowledge of diagnostic tools and procedures for identifying and troubleshooting mechanical issues and make necessary repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret vehicle schematics and technical manuals.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used.
- Communicate with drivers and staff to understand concerns and identify areas for improvement.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations when working with heavy equipment or machinery.
- Must have own tools/toolbox.
